The kids in my son’s school have spent the last few weeks painting pictures for a vernissage which was taking place today. One third of the profit of every sold picture was for charity, one third for the school and one third for the young artists. Yesterday evening my son asked me, if I was planing to buy a picture. Me buying a picture? On several occasions I actually never ever bought a painting. They were either far too expensive or I didn’t find one that I felt a personal connection to. However, after thinking about it I told him that if „my“ painting was there I would by it. But I wouldn’t just buy any painting for the sake of charity only.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make a long story short, after seeing most of the pictures I suddenly saw it, „my“ painting. It was love at first sight. I felt a connection to it that can hardly be put in words. Of course I bought it. Afterwards I met the young artist. She is 14 years old and this was the first painting she ever sold. She was moved to hear how happy I was and that I want to put it up in a prominent place so that every guest who comes would see it. And then she told me, that she had painted it just yesterday evening.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It took me a while but by later telling this story to my daughter it hit me. The artist started painting „my“ painting only after I decided yesterday evening that I would buy it. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In der Schule meines Sohnes waren die Kinder seit Wochen mit dem Malen von Bildern f\u00fcr eine Vernissage besch\u00e4ftigt, die heute stattfand. Ein Drittel der Einnahmen aus dem Verkauf der Bilder ist f\u00fcr die Schule, eines f\u00fcr einen guten Zweck und eines ist f\u00fcr die jungen K\u00fcnstler pers\u00f6nlich. Gestern Abend fragte mich mein Sohn, ob ich vorh\u00e4tte ein Bild zu kaufen. Ich ein Bild kaufen? Bei mehreren Gelegenheiten habe ich noch nie eines gekauft. \u00dcblicher Weise sind sie mir viel zu teuer oder aber es war noch nie eines darunter zu welchem ich einen pers\u00f6nlichen Bezug hatte. Nachdem ich dar\u00fcber nachgedacht hatte, sagte ich ihm, ich w\u00fcrde nur dann ein Bild kaufen, wenn es „meines“ w\u00e4re. Aber ich w\u00fcrde keines kaufen wollen, wenn es blo\u00df um den guten Zweck ginge.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der langen Erz\u00e4hlung kurzer Sinn, nachdem ich heute fast alle Kunstwerke gesehen hatte, sah ich es – „meines“. Es war Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Ich habe zu dem Bild eine Verbindung gesp\u00fcrt, die sich kaum in Worte fassen l\u00e4sst. Nat\u00fcrlich habe ich es gekauft. Danach habe ich die junge K\u00fcnstlerin kennengelernt. Sie ist 14 Jahre alt und es war das erste Bild, dass sie jemals verkauft hat. Sie war sehr ger\u00fchrt, als ich ihr sagte, dass dieses Bild einen besonderen Platz erhalten wird, sodass es jeder meiner G\u00e4ste deutlich sehen wird. Und dann sagte sie mir, dass sie es erst gestern Abend gemalt hatte.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es dauerte eine Weile, aber als ich sp\u00e4ter dieses Erlebnis meiner Tochter erz\u00e4hlte, wurde mir etwas klar. Die K\u00fcnstlerin hatte erst begonnen „mein“ Bild zu malen, als ich beschlossen hatte es zu kaufen.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
