Once a friend told me that his grandmother had a wart above her right eye and another one above her left eye. After she heard that Jesus can heal all kind of illnesses she one night put her hand on one of the warts and prayed: „Dear Lord, I believe that you can also remove warts. I therefore ask you to remove this one“. The next morning it was gone. The following night she tried the same prayer for the remaining wart. But it didn’t work out. She tried many nights, but no way.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will not bother you with the morals. But probably you now ask yourself the very same question that I asked myself: is this story made up? Despite of my friend being an honest man, the story made sense to me. So from time to time I told it to other people. But frankly, what is a story worth that you heard from someone who heard it from someone else? Not as much as if it would be your very own story, right? Therefore I stopped telling it.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Years later I found a birthmark on my chest that looked different than others. It grew three dimensional and had a different color. So I went to my doctor and asked if I  should get it removed. After observing it carefully she said that it wasn’t a birthmark. It was a wart. Actually nothing to worry about. But just in case it would bother me too much I could come back and she would remove it.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A couple of weeks later it still grew. It now had the size of a small finger nail. I once had a wart removed by a doctor with a sharpened spoon, which didn’t hurt but felt very, very uncomfortable.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I decided to do what was told in the story that I mentioned. But I felt that I needed to adopt the method. I put my hand on the wart and told it: „Dear wart, I was thinking why you came to me and if there is maybe something that you wanted me to teach. I admit that I don’t get the lesson but I appreciate you for being here. I ask you now to leave me again. Thank you for having been with me and thank you for leaving me.“<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day it was still there. A week later I realized some change in its form. Another week later it was pretty obvious that it got smaller. After another week it was only attached by a small string and the wart itself had become dry. One morning when I pulled of my shirt it fell down on the floor. I showed the wart to my wife and children and then I put it in a matchbox. A couple of weeks later I threw it away. It actually didn’t look anymore like a wart and therefore it would have been no evidence to convince someone who doesn’t believe a story just because he is told that it is true.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ein Freund erz\u00e4hlte mir einmal von seiner Gro\u00dfmutter welche eine Warze \u00fcber ihrem linken und eine \u00fcber ihrem rechten Auge hatte. Nachdem sie davon geh\u00f6rt hatte, dass Jesus alle Arten von Krankheiten heilen k\u00f6nne, legte sie eines Nachts ihre Hand auf eine Warze und betete: „Lieber Herr Jesus, Ich glaube daran, dass du auch Warzen entfernen kannst. Daher bitte ich dich darum, diese hier zu entfernen.“ Am n\u00e4chsten Morgen war sie weg. Die darauf folgende Nacht sprach sie das gleiche Gebet f\u00fcr die andere Warze. Aber es funktionierte nicht, obwohl sie es viele N\u00e4chte probierte.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ich werde euch nun nicht mit der Moral dieser Geschichte qu\u00e4len. Aber ihr stellt euch wahrscheinlich genau die gleiche Frage wie ich damals: War diese Geschichte erfunden? Unabh\u00e4ngig davon, dass mein Freund ein aufrechter Mensch ist ergibt die Geschichte f\u00fcr mich einen Sinn. Also habe ich sie von Zeit zu Zeit anderen Leuten erz\u00e4hlt. Aber mal ehrlich, wie glaubhaft ist eine Geschichte die du von jemandem geh\u00f6rt hast der sie von jemand anderem geh\u00f6rt hat? Nicht so sehr als wenn sie deine ganz pers\u00f6nliche Geschichte w\u00e4re, oder? Also habe ich aufgeh\u00f6rt sie zu erz\u00e4hlen.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jahre sp\u00e4ter fand ich auf meiner Brust ein Muttermal welches sich von den anderen deutlich unterschied. Es wuchs auf eine dreidimensionale Weise und hatte eine andere Farbe. Also ging ich zu meiner \u00c4rztin und fragte, ob ich es entfernen lassen solle. Sie untersuchte es genau und meinte, dass es kein Muttermal ist. Es war eine Warze. Aber nichts wor\u00fcber ich mir Sorgen machen solle. Doch falls sie mich irgendwann st\u00f6ren sollte, k\u00f6nnte sie sie jederzeit entfernen<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Einige Wochen sp\u00e4ter wuchs sie noch immer. Nun war sie so gro\u00df wie der Nagel meines kleinen Fingers. Mir wurde schon einmal eine Warze von einem Arzt mit Hilfe eines scharfen L\u00f6ffels entfernt. Obwohl es nicht weh getan hatte, war das Entfernen sehr, sehr unangenehm gewesen.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dann kam mir die oben erw\u00e4hnte Geschichte wieder in den Sinn. Ich wollte es eigentlich auch so machen, doch wurde mir klar, dass ich die Methode ab\u00e4ndern musste. Ich legte meine Hand auf die Warze und sagte zu ihr: „Liebe Warze, ich habe dar\u00fcber nachgedacht warum du zu mir gekommen bist und was du mich lehren m\u00f6chtest. Ich gebe zu, dass ich es nicht verstanden habe, aber ich wertsch\u00e4tze deine Anwesenheit. Ich ersuche dich, mich wieder zu verlassen. Ich danke dir daf\u00fcr, dass du hier bei mir warst und ich danke dir, dass du mich wieder verl\u00e4sst.“<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Am n\u00e4chsten Morgen war sie noch immer da. Eine Woche sp\u00e4ter fiel mir an ihr eine Ver\u00e4nderung auf. Nach einer weiteren Woche war es ziemlich offensichtlich, dass sie kleiner wurde. Nach einer weiteren Woche war sie eingetrocknet und nur noch mittels eines Fadens mit mir verbunden. Als ich eines Morgens mein T-Shirt auszog fiel sie zu Boden. Ich zeigte sie meiner Frau und meinen Kindern und gab sie danach in eine Streichholzschachtel. Einige Wochen sp\u00e4ter warf ich sie weg, da sie ohnehin nicht mehr wie eine Warze aussah. Daher h\u00e4tte sie auch nicht als Beweis f\u00fcr jemanden dienen k\u00f6nnen, der sowieso keine Geschichte glaubt, blo\u00df weil der Erz\u00e4hler behauptet, dass sie wahr ist.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
